Majestic uses sophisticated combinations of pigmented, iridescent and exciting colour shift coatings resulting inshimmering metallic surfaces and a luxurious feel. First class print and finishing properties make Majestic stand out.

All papers are made to the highest environmental standards and with FSC pulps.

 

Majestic conforms to ISO 9706 requirements for permanence and is suitable for archival use or applicationsrequiring "Acid Free" paper. It is fully biodegradable and recyclable.

 

Printing and finishing recommendations

Printing job Preparation: Majestic is produced to be stable between 40% -60% humidity at 21-23°C, therefore weadvise to avoid extreme humidity or temperature condition. Please keep the paper as long as possible in the mill-wrapper before use. We recommend to print small stacks allowing better drying.

This technique leaves the paper with a low absorbent and shimmering surface, which will showtrough the printed inks. However, printing large solid areas could somehow lessen the effect, especially with darkcolours. The gloss hold out will be good. Varnishing after printing can be done but doing so will cut down the shineof the paper as it puts a layer on top of the stock. Scuffing and scratching is not a problem even without a protectivetop coat.

For offset or letterpress, please use oxidizing inks (3% additive) or UV drying inks. Oxidizing inks will dry within 24to 48 hours. Faster drying results will be obtained with UV inks. Note: when printing Chameleon colours for aestheticreasons we advice you to avoid printing large solid areas in order to maintain the surprising Chameleon effect. Tospeed up drying, the standard reducers or additives can be used. Too much reducer could result in chalking.

When printing offset, it is normal that some of the special pigments are transferred to the blanket (this is especiallythe case with the dark and very dark colours). Over normal run lengths the print quality will not be affected. As aguide, halve normal stack height and trip the jogging system.

Always use anti-set off spray, preferably a type with a coarse particle-size and a non-dissolving spray powder.

Dot Screen: We advise 130-163 lpi to obtain an optimal result.

Laminating suitability: You can use common hotmelt or solvent systems. No special and expensive products areneeded.

Hot foil Stamping: There are no precautions necessary when using conventional foil stamping techniques.

Cutting, Creasing, Folding, Blind Embossing and Die stamping: Majestic has excellent properties for thesetechniques.

Digital printing: Majestic has proven to be suitable for several dry digital printing presses. Please recommendMajestic as a tried-and-true choice. We know from experience that Majestic handle the digital challenge beautifullyand that Majestic runs smoothly on Nexpress, iGen3 and Xerox production presses.

Majestic is not suitable for hp indigo presses. It is not recommended for heat set web offset. Majestic is notrecommended for high temperature electrophotographic processes.

Ink jet & laser printing: Majestic is not guaranteed for ink jet and laser printing although very good results havebeen obtained on many printers.

Proofing: Designers who have not used the papers before should know that there are subtle color tints in the paperthat can affect the finished look but can be worked around with color correction. Press proofs are recommended,because proofing can be tricky as the paper is highly reflective and the look of the printed piece can changedramatically under different lighting conditions. The trick is to look at the proof under as many different lightingconditions possible.
